How can people grow their careers when they are starting over in a new country, industry, or stage of life?

For newcomers and mid-career workers, career growth can feel slower because they may have to rebuild networks, learn local workplace culture, or prove experience they already have. Skills alone are not always enough.

When I immigrated to Canada, my lack of "Canadian Experience" was a problem. My Indian education and my work experience in Saudi Arabia did not count. For me, I had to study and get a certificate from a local technical training centre before my resume was considered.
