Music has a way of carrying family memory. A song from childhood, a hymn, a wedding song, or an old film melody can bring back people and places more strongly than a photograph. For me, older Indian film songs and church music both carry memory. They remind me of different parts of life: family gatherings, school days, and community events. Music preserves time in a way ordinary conversation does not.
